HuskySat-3 (HS-3) Division
Developing the most ambitious mission of HSL to date, the HuskySat-3 Division is shooting for the moon and beyond with their upcoming CubeSat, HS-3.
Division Overview
Our satellite aims to explore Mare Imbrium and Oceanus Procellarum, locations on the lunar surface where surface observations suggest the presence of lava tubes. By mapping the tubes, HS-3 aims to locate areas of interest for human habitation, offering protection from extreme temperature fluctuations, radiation, and meteorite impacts.
Currently we are in the system requirement phase of the mission with the following teams assembled:
Orbital Team: This team works on the development of trajectories and orbital parameters for the satellite, from launch to end of life advances.
Systems Team: This team manages the overarching technical and programatic scheduling as well as the development of deliverables to keep the mission cohesive.
Scientific Mission Team: This team focuses on setting and executing the scientific goals and objectives of the mission.
Note more subsystems and teams will be assembled in the future so stay tuned for more info!
